Start with mountain activities in winter season doing some trekking, taking lessons of cross-country skiing with optional activities. Staying for the night at a cozy mountain hut placed in the middle of the forest covered with snow with enchanting nature scenery views..

Duration: 6 days, 5 nights.

Difficulty: None. No previous experience required just to be keen to do some low physically demanding activity.

Itinerary:

Day 1:
winter Trekking Bariloche PatagoniaTransfer from meeting point (bus station, airport, hotel) to Refugio Neumeyer - mountain hut (at 1320 m over sea level), about 18 Km from Bariloche. There we have lunch and in the afternoon we hike around the area to the Mirador de la Ciudad (panoramic view point). In mountain hut dinner and lodging.

Day 2:
After breakfast we start with the cross-country skiing lessons. Lunch at the mountain hut and in the afternoon cross-country ski practice. Dinner and lodging at the mountain hut.

Layover day or optional activities. Dinner and lodging at the mountain hut.

Day 5:
Layover day or optional activities. Lodging at downtown hostel.

Day 6:
Breakfast and transfer to bus station or airport.


Clothing and gear suggestions:
small backpack (30 liters); sleeping bag, a pair of durable trekking boots (fit for snow) and a replacement pair; warm clothing, waterproof shells (jackets, pants & gaiters); warm cap or hat; gloves; UV-filter sunglasses; sun screen; small flashlight, water bottle or similar liquid container, plastic bags.

Included services: Transportation for all transfers. Expert trekking guide at all times. Lodging with full boarding in the refugio (4 nights), and accommodation in a city hostel (one night). (The dinner of the last day is not included). Regarding trekking gear, we provide snowshoes and poles. Refugio Neumeyer, a rustic mountain lodge which belongs to the official local mountain club (Club Andino Bariloche - CAB) is located in Challhuaco valley. Amenities include bathroom facilities, showers, power generator, dining room and bedroom with "barracks-type" beds with mattresses on which you lay down in your own sleeping bag. The last night, accommodation is provided at a hostel in the city. All meals, from lunch on day 1 to breakfast on day 6. Lunch consists of a picnic lunch with drink and dessert or a cook meal at the mountain hut.

Not included: Last-day dinner at hostel. Transportation form place of origin to Bariloche and back. Bottled/canned drinks. Medical or any other kind of insurance.



Safety notice:
Medical assistance is NOT included. However, trekking guides do carry basic first aid kit and VHF communication equipment in case any emergency situation arises. Health certificate, issued by a physician who certifies physical fitness is strongly recommended, especially for those with sedentary habits.
