Torres del Paine National Park

Paine towers is mountainous assembly at southern Chile located in the province of Última Esperanza (Last Hope) formed by the mountainous peaks of Paine Large, Paine towers and Paine Horns, that are around the 2.800 m high. This mountains have become the aim of many climbers from around the world lured by the great granite walls. The three peaks, of similar characteristics, form part of the Paine National Park. The climatic variations and the conditions of the relief permit the delimitation of different natural areas in which the vegetation varies from desert environments part of the extensive patagonian steppes -where dominate the low bushes such us calafate, senecio and mata barrosa, and among the herbaceous, the steppes and the corión or the dense inland forests, where alternate formations of lenga with other species such as olivillo grass, clover and flower plants of great beauty, like the capachitos and the orchids. The animal life is abundant, with interesting mammals species: guanacos, huemules, Chilean deer and pumas. The birds are also numerous, represented by the ñandú, eagle, black swan and swan coscoroba.

Paine Towers "W" circuit: duration 10 days (intense trek)
October to April, on Tuesdays every 14 days (min. 3 people)
