In the afternoon of Day 1 and during the morning of Day 2 we will visit places with rupestrian paintings -- vestiges of the mapuches, the native inhabitants of our area--, with traces of volcanic times in mountain slopes covered by volcanic ash, and with petrified woods and column-like rocky formations. The first night we will set our camp in the valley.

In the afternoon we will go from Villa Llanquín to the valley of Río Ñirihuau. On horseback, we will head off from a settler's property to the steppe plains and we will start acquiring knowledge of the transition forest. We will camp on the shore of the river.

Day 3:
During the morning, we will walk to Arroyo Botella and upstream to reach the Challhua-co valley. Mountain ridges with high-Andean vegetation will offer a spectacular view of part of the colorful landscapes we went over the previous days which will be left behind to enter an Andean forest of pure lenga tree, a low deciduous beech (Nothofagus pumilio). This will be our setting in the way to Refugio Neumeyer, a rustic mountain lodge where we will stay overnight

Duckies kayaking - Patagonia ArgentinaDay 4:
In the morning we will head off to Camping Los Rápidos. We will descent the Río Manso in duckies and travel downstream to Lago Hess.
