Hostel Arko - Guest house in Bariloche Patagonia Argentina

For more than 40 years the Arko family has been offering lodging to travelers from all over the world who visit the beautiful mountain town of San Carlos de Bariloche located in Northern Patagonia in Argentina.

Mrs. Milena Lenard - Arko settled in Bariloche, after escaping from Slovenia (former Yugoslavian republic) after World War II, where she married Vojko Arko and together they formed a family with 4 sons.

Their home at Güemes 691 in the late 60s widened over the garage, where it was built a room with private bathroom and another room with shared bathroom. In these rooms Milena started lodging travelers who came to enjoy the mountains and natural beauties of Patagonia.

In 1975 at the backyard she built a small double floor house with two rooms at the upper floor with shared bathroom, and a kitchen and another room with private bathroom at the lower floor. At the age of 88 years, Mrs. Milena keeps attending guests from all over the world at her guest house the "La casita".

In 2008 her sons built a new hostel, on the border land of Milena house, with six spacious double rooms with private bathrooms, comfortable fully equipped rooms and amenities, each one with individual outdoor door, with windows with view to the garden. These rooms may also be used as shared bedrooms or dorms with bunk beds for 5 people.

At the new hostel we have beds for 18 people, this allow us to offer personalized attention and less people circulation.
