Fitz Roy and Perito Moreno glacier
These
program is designed to allow us to ride a horse by the Tunel
River valley area and the surrounding fields to the Viedma
Glacier. This Tour offers wonderful views of the Fitz Roy,
Torre and Grande Mounts, and the front side of the extremely
large Viedma glacier. Daily hose rides are complemented with
short treks to accede to some viewpoints which are not allowed
to reach directly by horse.

Itinerary: duration 8
days - 7 nights (moderate trek)
Day 1: El Calafate airport -
El Calafate
We receive you at El Calafate Airport from there
you are transferred to El Calafate City, where at 7 pm the
group meet by first time at the Hostal del Lago Libertador,
at Del Libertador 587, El Calafate. You meet your guide, and
you enjoy a dinner with you adventure partners while chatting
on the program details for tomorrow.

Day 2: El Chalten - Cerro Fitz
Roy
After
breakfast we travel by bus to El Chalten, a little and colorful
town next to Mount Fitz Roy. To arrive to El Chalten we will
cross 190 km of gravel road through the Patagonia steppe.
After arriving to El Chalten we fine tune the last details
and start our horse ride. A nice trail beside the De las Vueltas
river lead us to the first viewpoints of the Fitz Roy Mount.
We continue riding until get our camp in the Fitz Roy base,
named Rio Blanco (White River). From there we continue trekking
to ascend walking one and a half hour more until one of the
main viewpoints of the Park, De los Tres lagoon. The Fitz
Roy Mount up heave vertically over the surrounding glaciers.
Finally we return by the same trail until Rio Blanco Camp,
where we turn south to Capri Lagoon where we have our Full
Camp(6 hours approx). The Full Camp has been previously mounted,
featuring spacious dome tents, used in double or single base.
Each tent has sleeping bags, inner sheet and insulating mattresses.
The camp has a large dining tent with table, benches, dishes
and kitchenware. The sanitary services are provided with chemical
bathrooms.

Day 3: Cerro Torre - El Chalten
In
the morning we ride surrounding the Capri lagoon until the
trail that run by the Madre e Hija lagoons valley. Crossing
a dense forest and a wet area, we arrive to the Torre Mount
valley, where the Fitz Roy river run. We continue riding beside
the river until its born in the Torre lagoon. This lagoon
is contained between moraines, and hoard icebergs that broke
from the Torre Glacier, on the west side of the lake. The
impressive group of Mount Torre needles with its slender 3128
meters/10262 ft height, frame the landscape. There we enjoy
our lunch box and we return in the evening to El Chalten.

Day 4: El Chaltén - Laguna Toro
From El Chalten we depart towards the Pliegue Tumbado mountainside,
through steppe and bushes first, and then the forest. We arrive
at the sharing point between the waters from the Torre and
Tunel valleys, and from there we can trek to the Pliegue Tumbado
ridge. We continue riding our horses descending to the Tunel
River valley until reach Laguna Toro, where the river starts.
There we get around the lake area and the Tunnel glacier.
We horse ride a approx 4 or 5 hours today.

Day 5: Laguna Toro - Peninsula Ventisqueros
From Toro lagoon we descend
by the Tunel river valley, near the Huemul Mount, and we enter
the "Ventisqueros Fields", feeding fields for the cattle,
near the Viedma glacier, and that belongs to the National
Reserve Los Glaciares. This fields are limited by the Viedma
lake shore, and the eastern side of the Huemul mount. Our
destination is our Full Camp in the bay near Peninsula Ventisqueros.
A short walk guide us to the Glacier viewpoint.

Day 6: Peninsula Ventisqueros
- Bahia Tunel
Today we come back part of our way through the ventisqueros
fields, to return to the end of the Tunel river, going around
the tunnel bay and finally arrive to the Tunel Bay restaurant,
where a nice afternoon snack, with tea, coffee and cakes is
waiting for us. We return by Mini Van to El Chalten.

Day
7: El Chalten - El Calafate - Perito Moreno
Glacier
We leave El Chalten in the morning, and travel by bus to El
Calafate where we arrive at noon. We have lunch and continue
to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier. Perito Moreno Glacier
is located 80 km far El Calafate in the Peninsula Magallanes
area, south part of the Los Glaciares National Park. Our bus
will lead us just in front of the Glacier, allowing us to
walk the gangplanks to view the Glacier from different viewpoints.
The roar of the gigantic ice rocks falling and crashing into
the waters of the channel is a unique experience. We return
to El Calafate using a different route that we used to arrive.
We enjoy our last dinner together.

Day 8:
El Calafate -El Calafate Airport
After breakfast we transfer to El Calafate Airport where our
services end.
Included meals: breakfast
Included services: Muleteer Guide. Horses for the passengers
and the equipment. Transfer El Calafate Airport - El Chalten
- El Calafate -El Calafate Airport. 7 breakfast, 6 lunch boxes
and 7 dinners. Perito Moreno Glacier Excursion. 4 nights at
base Accommodation at Hostel Room or Alternative Accommodation
(optional extra charge applies) at Inn double or single base,
3 nights at Full Camp double base (rural area, for single
tent extra charges apply).

Safety notice: Medical assistance
is NOT included. However, trekking guides do carry basic first
aid kit and VHF communication equipment in case any emergency
situation arises. Health certificate, issued by a physician
who certifies physical fitness is strongly recommended, especially
for those with sedentary habits.
