Ecotourism flora and ecosystems

The
trip starts in Bariloche at the foot of the Andes with
humid forests then as we travel east the vegetation changes
to arid low shrubs passing along Cordoba pass to San Martín
de los Andes, Monquehue and Batea Mahuida.

Day 1:
Welcome
at Bariloche airport. Plant life observation at Cerro Catedral.
Overnight accommodation at Hostería El Retorno.
Day 2:
Visit to Refugio Neumeyer. Observation of high-Andean vegetation.
Chal-Hua-Co valley. Overnight accommodation at Hostería el
Retorno.
Day 3:
Patagonian
steppe. Observation of the vegetation of the steppe.
Los Juncos lagoon. Bird watching.
Overnight accommodation at Hostería el Retorno.
Day 4:
Valdivian forest. Observation of the species growing in the
most humid area of the Andes. Puerto Blest.
Overnight accommodation at Hostería el Retorno.
Day
5:
Departure from Bariloche. Transfer to San Martin de los Andes
via Paso del Córdoba (132 km) San Martín - Plant life observation
at Cerro Chapelco
Lodging at Alihuen (5 km on the road to Lolog).
Day 6:
Departure from San Martín de los Andes. Transfer to Moquehue
(225 km). Observation of an araucaria, roble pellín, and
raulí (an evergreen beech) forest. Lodging at Hostería
Moquehue. .
Day 7:
Batea
Mahuida. Observation of an eye-catching community of high-Andean
plants, typical of a humid area, found around a lagoon
in contrast with the community of the arid stony ground. Lodging
at Hostería Moquehue .
Day 8:
Departure from Moquehue to Chapelco airport to return to the
city of origin.
Include services: transfer
IN/OUT, 6 lodging in hotel, 1 night lodging in mountain hut,
mountain guides for 7 days, 7 breakfasts, all the trasport
transfers during the trip.
Not Included: beverages,
meals, medical or travel insurance, extras, tips.
Safety notice:
Medical assistance is NOT included. However, trekking
guides do carry basic first aid kit and VHF communication
equipment in case any emergency situation arises. Health certificate,
issued by a physician who certifies physical fitness is strongly
recommended, especially for those with sedentary habits.
